We Got A Puppy!

Chris and I puppy sat yesterday and today for Danielle. Danielle works with Chris. She found this stray dog on the street who was abandoned by his owner. I felt so bad. Poor little pup. Chris called me and asked me if it was okay if the puppy could stay the night while Danielle was searching for a home for him. I specifically said, "One night." Danielle brought him over yesterday because she can't have him at her dorm. So the pup spent the night with Chris and me. When Danielle came over, she gave me the run down. The whole gist was if I kept him on my lap, he would be happy the entire time. Danielle helped me give him a bath which was fun. He was a little jumpy with the water, but she helped calm him down. Danielle was a natural with the dog. I'm jealous because I'm not. I wasn't raised with animals running around everywhere. :)

After having him for a night, I feel completely in love with him. I asked Chris if we could keep him (can you believe I asked Chris for a puppy?). He was very obedient and he just wants to be loved. How could I say no to that pretty little face? ;)

I took him on a walk outside yesterday afternoon. We both needed the fresh air. We don't have a leash yet, but I kept an eye on him during the whole walk. He's a funny puppy. Every time we would go around some bushes by the apartment complex, he would stop and sniff it out. It took us about an hour to go all the way around our apartment. Silly pup. :) He was so good. Chris and I decided to name him Buddy. He is such a sweetheart.

Look how skinny he is...Poor little guy. He'll be fed in no time! ;)

Chris and I didn't get very much sleep last night. We put Buddy in our bathroom and took everything he could possibly destroy out of the bathroom and stored it inside our closet for the time being. He kept whimpering all night long. Chris woke up and tried to take him outside so he could go to the bathroom. Buddy didn't go. So, the sweetheart my husband is, he slept in the bathroom with that dog all night long. I stopped hearing him whimper at about 12:15 in the morning. I just hope Chris got enough sleep to at least function during the day since he had to be up at 5:00 AM to get ready for work.

At about 6 this morning, I took Buddy out to see if he would go to the bathroom. He didn't. I sat down in our blue rocking chair to get some homework done and he curled up in it before I could even sit down. It was so cute. About an hour later, Tosha came over with her dog, Bruno, and they had their own little play date. They were so cute to watch.

Cyrus texted me yesterday about the puppy. He said that we should keep Buddy and make him the "Third Gibson." After hours of contemplating, we both decided to keep him, unless he actually has an owner. Buddy seems to feel right at home with Chris and me. It will be a lot of work, but what isn't a lot of work these days? He was so adorable. I warmed up to him very quickly. People who really know me would make fun of me because they know that I do not like dogs, but things change sometimes. I guess that's what happens when you get older. :)

Doesn't this just make your heart melt? :)
